Hey! I’m Claire, founder of The Magic of Play.

Where It All Started

As a primary school teacher for over a decade, I saw it time and time again: children struggling - not because they weren’t smart - but because they hadn’t developed the key skills they needed to thrive. Perseverance, emotional intelligence and creativity—these are the foundations of learning and growing.

When I first introduced Learning through Play in my classroom in 2019, everything clicked. I saw how play could help children build these essential skills organically. It became clear that giving children the chance to learn through play isn’t just helpful—it’s transformative, setting them up to succeed academically and in life.

Where It All Started

Becoming a mum back in 2016 changed everything I thought I knew about childhood. Like so many parents, I’ve often worried about making the right choices and wondered if I’m doing enough to shape my kids’ future. But one thing became crystal clear: childhood isn’t a race to prepare for adulthood. It’s a magical time where imagination and play build the skills that truly matter—confidence, resilience, and creativity. When I realized the power of play in shaping these skills, I knew I had to do more to help other parents give their children the best start in life. That’s when The Magic of Play was born.

Sharing the Magic of Play

Today, I’m dedicated to sharing my approach with other parents through The Magic of Play. I’ve combined my teaching expertise, passion for storytelling, and love of children’s literature to create resources that bring purpose and joy to playtime. By helping parents turn play into a meaningful and magical experience, I hope to ease their worries about the future and inspire them to trust in the power of connection and creativity.
